WELCOME TO SPC INSIDER!

Welcome to the 2023/2024 school year at Stockholm International School (SIS). I hope that you’ve had a wonderful summer reconnecting with friends and family. If this is your first year at SIS I would like to extend a very warm welcome to each and everyone of you. If you are a “seasoned” SIS family – welcome back again!

My name is Farrah Gillani and I am your SIS Parent Community (SPC) President. I served last year on the SPC board as Communications Officer and I have a daughter at the school in 9th grade. You can learn more about our wonderful board here.

The SPC Board is composed of parents just like yourself that want to ensure their children have the best possible experience at SIS. We encourage you to take an active part and enjoy our activities. Involvement is one of the best ways to build relationships through the school: with teachers and staff, with other parents, and with your child’s classmates.

We have a very active parent community with many different clubs e.g. running club, walking club, photography club, book club, cooking club, city lunch club and many more. We also have a buddy program to help new families transition to Stockholm and SIS. This year we are planning a “Buddy boat” to welcome new parents by organizing a boat trip in the Swedish archipelago.

The best way to keep yourself updated on school and SPC events is by:

-       Check the school calendar

-       Sign up for “Classlist” to make friends and join all the clubs

-       Be on the look-out for information for your child’s class reps

-       Attend our monthly SPC meetings. The first meeting will be on 6th September

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. You can reach us at spc@intsch.se.

Kind regards

Farrah Gillani
